The North Dakota State Hospital Museum
The North Dakota State Hospital Museum opened in 2010 in recognition of 125 years of service to North Dakota residents. The museum, located in the Learning Resource Center on the hospital grounds displays hundreds of items depicting the rich history of psychiatric care. A 125-year timeline depicts the history of the hospital and the history of psychiatric care in America.
Items include the original hospital morgue table, patient-made wicker furniture, medical equipment, farming equipment, and photos.
We would like to hear from anyone who has information regarding the hospital's history. This project has gathered a library of hospital records, including oral history recordings of long-term staff members. You may connect with us through our Contact Form.
